Does anyone have the Wireless Tether app on their rooted incredible? I currently have an Incredible hacked to work on Alltel, and about 70% of the time when I wireless tether through the root app or the built in 3G hotspot application the connection will drop every 30 seconds or so. After further investigation it is apparent that my IP address is changing, dropping my connection. Anyone else have this issue, or any solutions to it? The phone's data connection is on the Alltel network, and I was wondering if Verizon customer have the same issue. I don't want to switch to Verizon early if I don't have to, because I value being able to roam on Sprint for free. Thanks.

So help me understand this, you have a rooted incredible, on alltel, when you use your 'wireless tether' app the device connects, then disconnects shortly after?
Current: Note2
Backup: HTC, Thunderbolt -- HTC Incredible (Skyraider)
Past: Droid, Devour, Omnia 2, Pearl, Flipshot, Juke, Voygr, Storm, Q, Dare, Boulder, U740, LG/V-111, Noko 3589, Moto V710, Moto T720, Mifi, Noko 5185i
Correct. The wireless tether app launches and works, and randomly the 3G icon will go away; A few seconds later the icon comes back and the phone has a different external IP address. It is almost like a DHCP lease is renewing.
What rom are you running?
Stock rom.
Not to sound selfish by asking a question and not answering yours. But i see that your Incredible is running froyo. did you manually update it? and its working successfully?
