Difference of CoPilotUSA and Google Maps

I do like Google Maps but on my LG Ally it takes FOREVER to finally get a GPS signal. Do you guys think CoPilot runs a bit smoother and faster than Google Maps do?

With copilot it is all on the phone you down load the app and once you open you will then download the maps you need or have room for. It saves to the sd card and when you are out of cellular range it will work

CoPilot probably won't get a GPS lock any quicker since that's going to be dependent on your hardware and location. As pattyrn said, the main difference between the two (besides having different maps that they work off of), is that the maps are stored on the phone/SD card and do not require a data connection. Google Maps works off of a data connection. So if your cell signal is poor, CoPilot is likely to function quicker. But the GPS signal shouldn't be different between the two.

Is CoPilot free like Google Maps?

Is it stored on SD card or on the phone?

    Thanks!

Google Maps downloads a certain amount of area around the entire route. This is usable without a data connection. I don't know how big the area is. You can be rerouted within that area.

    No, CoPilot is not free.

You can store the maps either on the phone's internal memory or on the SD card. I believe it defaults to the SD card.
