I have the set of stock headphones that let me FF pause and REW, and I see a replacement set on ebay for around $10, but what I really want is a patch cable that (for example) lets me plug in my favorite ear buds and maintain the remote control functions.

At this point, I suppose my option is to cut off the stock ear buds and solder on a 3.5mm jack.

Is there a cable like this out there?

Does anyone have the schematic for how this OEM cable works?
