That really sounds like a bug. I don't think they intend voice rates to go up over turning on web, and we already know customer service did (and probably still will) turn on 35 cent web for grandfathered accounts.

It is not a bug, if it was they would have fixed it by now. Boost doesn't want to make it easy for you to avoid being switched to the new rates, that is why you have to call CS to switch back and forth from the $.35 data rate.

Is there a list of apps that can get data without web add-on?

    Thanks

Nothing can get data without the web add-on.

you should check what you know.
Putting the phone you want on the service you pay for is not a crime. No one has ever been convicted of it!
No one has ever been convicted of talking about it either!

Has anyone changed handsets and was able to grandfather the 10 cent per minute/35 cents per day rate on the new handset? If the old handset was Sprint, can you tell customer service to do an ESN swap to another Sprint handset directly or do you have to start with a Boost Iden or CDMA handset first?

If you have the old plan and you change handsets without changing your plan you should not have to get bumped to the other plan. Go to the website and try to update your handset. You already have an active boost account and updating handset should work without a hitch. If the site tells you that you have to change plans then you can try calling customer service and see if they can leave your plan intact.

If your account became inactive then that's another story. Good luck.
