I bought an unlocked Optimus 2X last week and did the HoFo E71 sim swap. I'm getting 3g in most areas and 4g in areas where it's available. The E71 sim is AT&T. As far as Tmobile is concerned, they are also offering 4g prepaid on their network http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/
I guess we'll just have to wait to see which one this phone will run on. I won't even guess on the price from Straight Talk but I had to shop to find mine unlocked for $350. I also heard there were some glitches when the phone was on froyo but mine runs super smooth so far on gingerbread. It's also be upgradeable to ICS. This phone has been out for a year or more and was actually the first dual core ever released. Love mine so far!
The current SIM swap trick (sticky thread) already gets you "4G" on the iPhone 4S. Like I said, its 4G HSPA+, which is an evolution of 3G. Its much closer to 3.5 or 3.75G, but marketing people decided it should be called 4G.
Real 4G is LTE, which the iPhone doesn't support.
Of course its on T-Mobile. It will use HSPA+, "4G "

The reserve page ( http://reserve.straighttalkandroid.com/ ) says it's LTE. T-Mobile doesn't have an LTE network. AT&T does. So either the LTE bit is false advertising or the network is AT&T.
Find and compare prepaid plans at https://prepaidcompare.net
Its not going to be on LTE. Read my reasons a few posts back, its soooo unlikely that any MVNO will get LTE right now. Those are the Premium Networks for AT&T and VZW, theres no reason for them to offer it to Prepaid.
Anyways, the screenshots, pictures, and info the guy on XDA posted basically prove this is not an LTE phone but rather a 4G HSPA phone on T-Mobile.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...9&postcount=12The FCC ID matches the P999 (BEJP999DW)
Whats a LG P999? http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/LG-P999.jsp
The FCC ID definitively proves theres no LTE. Because if there was an LTE varient, it would have a differing FCC ID from the G2x that was on T-Mobile due to the need for an additional LTE radio.
I'm willing to bet that it is a mistake on their part.
So I guess this mean it will be pretty much crappy coverage almost like sprint since there will not be any roaming onto AT&T towers, unlike the T-MO prepaid does for voice...
Lets look at what the phone discloses about itself by going through these two tutorials (second one is best):

Heres what Tracfancier is pointing out:
Attachment 77884
The image shows its on HSPA and shows the "4G" icon at the top in the status bar.
So please, stop beating the dead horse. Theres no LTE.
