RAZR MAXX HD specs:
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Mot...7484/fullspecs
A full week now of virtual silence since the announcement. Lots of excitement about this new Moto vzw flagship Droid, right?

Perspective instantiates reality.
In your spare time, also check out WP8. It's gradually evolving into a real third choice.
Not certain about WP8. It may need a few years for that to happen.
Your bgr link posted yesterday in the GNote II thread says the Nokia Lumia 920 launches October 21 along with the GN2. The Lumia 920 *is* WP8 -- up and running next month. It's still ARM, not x86 yet, but it's already become credible competition, even so, for Android and iPhone.
For example, it has the NT kernel same as Win8 and I believe it can be expected to drop with a full-blown ARM version of MS Office pre-loaded.
I should have been more clear. maybe with X86 processors and more time maturing WP8, it will be a third option.
Not to go too off topic - although there doesn't seem to be a lot of RAZR HD news - but the Lumia 920 is only likely to release on ATT. There's been no hint of when we might see any WP8 on Verizon and it might be possible the 920 doesn't come to other carriers at all.
With all the iPhone 5 hype Nokia really needs to launch their flagship on all carriers and announce a release date soon.
That said - I'm waiting for the RAZR Maxx HD. They need a release date for it as well.
Didn't a insider from Motorola on another site say : There is a huge delay in the MAXX HD due to a hardware issue. There seems to be a huge problem with the external antenna's that wrap around the device similiar to the iPhone when a user uses the device over time the antenna quality degrades. The signal drop is great enough to create a large amount of users to return the device.
I asked a VZW tester I know and they confirmed there is a hardware issue and they are making changes, it delayed the launch much.
Moto Razr
The delay will push the release into 2013?
I hope not, just heard it held it up a lot. I think everything else is done with it and once new HW is verified working they can ship it.
Right now there are two other phones that I'm interested in that will possibly come out in the November time frame.
The supposed Incredible X (Yeah the 5" HTC with 1080p and all)
and the Nokia Lumina 920. (The camera alone has me interested)
Both devices have better specs, better cameras, and better screens if the Nokia Lumina 900 and HTC One X are anything to go by. at this point, why would I choose the Motorola over these phones? Bigger battery? Moto is really making their device a hard sell with the RAZR HD/MAXX HD and I'm a Moto fan too! So far the only redeeming thing is the battery of the MAXX and the size. I'm inclined to go with the HTC, but the size (and battery life) kinda scares me off.

If that's the case, I'm bet Moto is working around the clock to try and get it fixed, so the final hardware version can be manufactured and in stores before Thanksgiving, or December at the latest.
It also makes me wonder why only now, at such a late date, is this antenna issue being looked at? Did no one realize the problem existed months ago while the units were in testing? I guess the Razr M doesn't suffer from the issue and has a different antenna layout.
I agree with FAUguy as to the phones I am waiting for.
