Bell servers are way better. I make sure I'm always on the best server. This server is also closer than the Roger server in Mississauga. The one in Toronto is just ****.

B4 + B12 on the 1st test. 15MHz. 2nd test is B12 + B12, 10MHz. Both tests are facing the tower. Very impressed with the S8 and the speeds it gets. Literally maxing the tower out.

Just seen CA lit up in Peterborough, ON. Finally doing Band 7 in CA. And it shows that this was needed badly. There is still 1 site along HWY-115 that needs to be upgraded for this.. No band 7 CA so its only doing 4 + 12.

I was able to break 200mbps tonight on Fido in Peterborough. Tests done on a S7 with no 256/64Q. Seems every S7 in Canada has 256Q blocked. In very happy with what Rogers has done in the past few weeks. LTE-A has been activated on a bunch of sites. Still some more to be upgraded. More tests soon

Not a speed test (ran out of data), but new Ericsson RAN supports 4CA (2-2-4-7), while previous only allowed up to 3CA.

Only 16 64 QAM for first band? No 256QAM MIMO 4x4? I see MIMO 4x2 only

The difference between downlink 4x4 and 4x2 is entirely dependent on the phone, not the network.

The first number is eNB (network) transmit antennas, the second number is UE (phone) receive antennas.

Also pretty sure 256 QAM is supported, just need better signal conditions to trigger it.

Right, you'd need at least a 20 SNR Ivan. Anyone know what blocks of B2 Rogers owns in the GTA?

Is there information online where I can find this cause I'd like to know what would be deployed. Single or dual carrier?

Yes, it's all on ISED's website. Have a look at the bottom part of Topic 9:

Single/dual carrier, you'd have to check from an actual site.

Rogers LTE speed tests. 1/4 mile times go here!

Decided to pop my wife’s SIM card in my iPhone 8 Plus today and have some fun running a few speed tests around my town. I was surprised to see the one below, which I took at Hwy 27 and Major Mac in Vaughan at 5:30pm. There’s a shrouded monopole very close to the intersection where Bell, Rogers, and Freedom are all co-located. I wonder what makes this Rogers site so much faster than all their others in Vaughan, including some of their recently upgraded sites? Looking good though. Keep it up Rogers! Now only if they would install a new site in my neighbourhood at Cityview and Canada Dr!!!!
