Painful coming from the well designed N8 to this plastic lump (even though I'm getting one ).

I agree. The N8 and the N9 feel like such great designs. Having said that I'm still interested in the 808 :-)

I can't wait to pick this up as well. Too bad we have to go throw the trouble of importing it. It would be nice if they just sold it here unlocked like the Nokias of old.

Hope Nokia changes its mind and decides to bring it to the USA market officially along with other future Symbian devices.

I have read most of the posts and would like to ask the following:

1- When will this telephone be available in Spain and is there any indication of its price?
2- If I buy this telephone unlocked in Spain, will I be able to load the US firmware to use it with t-Mobile?
3- Does anyone foresee any problems with doing this?
    Thank you.

    1. can't answer
    2. why? this phone should be a world phone and you should be able to use it without changing the fw
    3. there might not even be a US fw if it's not released in the US lol

I find myself just about phoneless as I wait for the 808. My N8 is on it's last legs. Need a new phone. Was toying with another N8 (hey, who knows when the 808 will come out) or a Xperia Arc S. Anyone have experience with the Arc? I posted the question on the Android forum but that place has more crickets than posters.

You are correct. However, everything would be in Spanish and although I am fluent in English and Spanish, it may be a bit better to have an English version of the FW. I am also afraid that the version for England may be harder for me to understand than the Spanish one.

i'm pretty sure you can just select english as the default language. when i had a nokia phone from Vietnam, that's all I did and it works perfectly. It didn't have US English, but the UK English is perfectly fine. Not that much difference around the menus and stuff.

Thank you. If I go to Spain, or anywhere in Europe this fall, I will try to pick up one of the 808 telephones. I am satisfied with my N8 and Belle but this one seems to take the cake.

As much as I want to enjoy the ultimate camera and media features I just can't get past the big lumpy plastic brick. Sure my N8 is now outdated but the build quality is outstanding so I'm gonna take a pass and enjoy what I have.
