Share Everything Plans and Corp Discounts

All right, I'm hearing different ways that Verizon is handling corp discounts. Some are saying it applies only to the data plan, others are saying it applies to the access fee (i.e. total costs for all shared devices), and a few are even saying it applies to the whole plan. Does anyone have the details on this?

It's the data part only. My mom gets 15% off for work. Switched today. The 10GB plan shows a modified price of $85. Access fees are not discounted.

All right, just finished switch to the Share Everything to test out how discounts work. My discount is 22% for access and 20% for data. The website, after the plan change was completed (YMMV with the calculator on the My Verizon website, but it was not working for me so I had to actually complete the plan change to see the reflected discount), showed that the 20% data access portion of my discount was applied to the data plan, and that was the only discount I received. In other words, the access discount (which is usually bigger) is irrelevant now on these new plans.

If you're trying to decide whether or not to switch to these plans, make sure to check the data discount and not the access discount of your plan. The data discount is normally smaller, and I've seen cases where people can have large access discounts with very small data discounts (e.g. 15% access and 5% data).

So it is indeed correct that you are only getting your discount off of the data portion and not the handset monthly fees ($30/$40 etc)?

So if you choose the $80 data plan that's what you get the discount off of?

Verizon has always treated unlimited voice this way as they're figure unlimited voice is discounted enough.

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but I don't get my discount at all on the Home Connect unlimited voice plan.

Yes, you only get discounted off the data portion, and that is based off your data discount (not your main/access discount).

It depends. Under the old tiered data plans, you only got data discounts if you had a plan that was either $40+ or $50+. So if you had 2GB or less, you weren't getting a data discount anyway. So depending on the discount and if your usage, it might still save you money.
