That really depends on the area, most of the US has no USCC coverage. Here in Mendocino County they do still maintain an edge over VZ on coverage, but Verizon has narrowed that edge to a VERY tiny one.

We were talking about Eastern North Carolina coverage only.

Oh, okay, I looked in your previous post and didn't see anything about a specific area.

The thread starter asked who had the best coverage in Eastern NC U.S.Cellular or Verizon.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread from the dead, but I was wondering if anyone living in Eastern NC has any updated opinions on Verizon vs US Cellular coverage. I'm currently on cricket, and AT&Ts coverage just doesn't reach out in a lot of the remote, rural areas that I occasionally work in. Good LTE coverage would be nice, but for me, the best voice coverage is my main concern. I'd hate to be out in the woods a couple of miles from the nearest road with no service and get bitten by a copperhead, for example.

If they're both roughly equivalent I'll probably go with Verizon over US Cellular just to have native LTE when I occasionally travel outside of Eastern NC. I know I can compare their coverage maps online, but also I like getting real world, on the ground feedback from folks who live and work in remote rural areas out here.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Have you looked at the Sensorly or CellMapper websites in those areas. They might provide a glimpse of what you're searching for.

Yeah, I've looked at those, but there's not too many users submitting info for USCC. Even for the larger carriers, those maps mainly just stick to the cities, since that's where most people are. I'm more looking for general impressions from folks who live in rural Eastern NC. Thanks for the input though!
