Is it possible activate a Net10 branded ZTE Merit on Straight Talk with a ST BOYP sim? I would rather go with Straight Talk so I can buy the 90 day PINs . - Thanks

This would be interesting to try. The SIMs used by NET10 BYOP look identical to ST BYOP to me but its possible theres additional programming on them that differentiates between the sub-brands.

A ST rep has just told me that it cannot be done. I will just activate the phone on Net10 and use the callingmart pins.
nope it is on st byod website.list of phones that cant be used.
but i sure someone will spend $500 doing it to say it can be done lol
well there is only one way for op to find out.buy one and try it.it has been said on here many times the guys that run st aitn the brightes bunch lol
This is from the Straight Talk website on using your own GSM telephone with the Straight Talk stand alone SIM card:
No Refunds will be issued for this SIM Card or Service Card purchases. You will need a compatible GSM AT&T or T-Mobile phone. You may also use an Unlocked GSM phone compatible with AT&T or T-Mobile. This program/offering does not work with Straight Talk, TracFone, NET10, SafeLink, BlackBerry and/or CDMA phones. To Activate your service, you will need a Service Card. You may purchase a Service Card with a Debit card or Credit card. APN (Access Point Name) data settings must be updated on your phone. These settings can be found on our website at apn.straighttalksim.com. Updating your APN settings does not guarantee MMS (Multimedia/Picture Messaging) will work. MMS is dependent upon your phone model’s limitations. If you have an iPhone and you would like to use MMS, you will need to Jailbreak* your iPhone in order to update your MMS settings. *Search “Jailbreak iPhone” on-line for more information.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the ZTE Merit from Net10 that is on sale today for $29 at Family Dollar does work with BYOD SIM card from Straight Talk. I tried two different sims in it and both worked with no problem. I dont know if it made a difference or not but the first time I powered the phone on I had the BYOD SIM already in the phone. So if you need a cheap backup this would be it. It is Android and has 5 mp camera.
