I wish for the good old days and what's worse is sprint is so lame not to get a Motorola flip for DC!
Riddle me this: When is the last time Motorola has made a (non-iDEN) flip dumb phone for ANYBODY in the US?
Thrill me...
Your Motorola flip phone option for Sprint CDMA is the Motorola V950... it's also a QChat version 1 phone (so it still has PTT in Rev. A areas only)... they actually aren't too bad once you get the newest firmware update... which only took about 2 years to get all the bugs out from the initial release lol
Aside from that, you are right... after the V950, Motorola gave up on pretty much all CDMA flip phones (and flips in general) for not just Sprint, but all carriers.
I'm also surprised to see that they didn't step up to make CDMA versions of the popular IDEN devices to move people over to... I think once Google bought Motorola, the focus has now shifted entirely to smartphones.
I wish chirping was still in... I would get myself an old i-series phone if PTT could get back in style!
Funny you mention the V950 as I have that. For some reason Sprint thinks the V950 is an iDEN device. I have been getting mailers that my coverage is about to be turned off for a few months now. They are calling me now to upgrade as my device will not work in the near future. Sprint apparently has no clue that the V950 is a CDMA device.
Maybe you should send them this... http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=1493

Well it's going to be a sad day when my
iDen phone shows no signal.
Not that anyone I know is using ptt any longer
and if they are they are using zello or some variant
on a smart phone.
iDen was king of PTT and of Audio Quality before all the
codecs turned crappy. I know.... It was a LONG time ago.
I need to let it go....
Good bye iDen. You shall be missed.
Now where did I put my Galaxy note II?

For a good video history of /\/\oto Flip phones including most iDen handsets watch all 7 seasons of West Wing the TV series. In the first episode you see one of the characters talking on a StarTac or maybe an i1000... then you see a bunch of i90's and i95's Condors, then on to all the Falcons (including shots of characters holding the i730 the correct way to avoid the "antenna issue") all the way to the last season in 2005 when you see the new campaign starting to use non /\/\oto Blackberry's and LG's...
Pretty cool trip down memory lane.
Well I am going to have iDEN well into 2020 down here
Rockin' a SouthernLINC iDEN phone still

I was just thinking about my old i1000+ and i90c. Those phones brought me to this forum. I miss the DC and just having a basic flip phone that was pretty rugged. I wish I still had those laying around so that I could just reminisce about the good ol days.
