Our site, and the rural site in the middle of nowhere that is the first "hop" in the Microwave Link are the only sites in my County upgraded so far, they have a ways to go, here, and in some of the surrounding Counties they have well covered in 2G/E sites...

Yeah I probably did, I have been tied up with college so Im only able to check periodically. Glad to hear that T-Mobile is finally ushering your community into the 21st century. Has anything changed with Verizon or AT&T. I remember you saying that they had a mast put up but had done nothing with it, and AT&T had sparse signals in some areas.

Speed test done after midnight in Ft. Myers, FL, a 20x20 LTE market (soon to be 25x25 after HSPA AWS shutdown). This was on an unlocked international LG G4 on Band 4.

Apparently, it's not possible for a 25x25 market, but only a 25x20 one. Not sure if T-Mo would do that in the first place.

Really? They own 25mhz of AWS spectrum there and they're currently only using 20mhz so I doubt they would let that go to waste.

Are you sure they're shutting AWS HSPA down there? It's still active here in Jacksonville. I thought the downlink couldn't go beyond 20MHz?

It was Fabian who said the max was either 25x20 or 20x20. Either way, if this is correct, it's a technical limitation of LTE. If it's not, I'm jelly, as DFW has a NON-contiguous 5MHz AWS block (currently used for HSPA+) and then 20 MHz of AWS for LTE.

Ask Fabian, he is the one who gave me the 25x20 limit?...

VZW still has not put any equipment on their tower in my town, it sits empty along with another nearby tower they built. VZW only has one Band 13 LTE site in the whole County, I found out VZW has no 850 mhz here, they run PCS CDMA/3G on their other sites. They JUST started running little microwave daisy chain set-ups to upgrade these sites to PCS LTE, even though Verizon is the landline provider here.
AT&T finally fired up Band 17 10x10 LTE on their site near here this past December. The 700 mhz LTE has way better penetration and usability in town compared to the 850 mhz 4G they have. I would have switched to AT&T by June if TMO hadn't upgraded from 2G/E to LTE here....

How is coverage and speeds overall in Fort Myers/Cape Coral?

Anything more than 20x20 requires carrier aggregation.

I would assume so since this Thursday is when AWS HSPA is being shut down here in Miami. I could be wrong.

I was just visiting but coverage was, for the most part, great.

Speeds should be better than Miami, where I live, due to 20x20 LTE.
