This happened to me; bought a refurbed 6s, husband ran through the data lickety split and the account showed plenty of data left in the separate bucket, but chat told me that would not be usable until the plan expired.
I had to buy another gig to apply to the monthly plan bucket.
(The plan has since expired and disappeared from the account.)
    .

Maybe you should look into this new plan for $39.99+tx :

Just stick in a new Sim card ( included with the Plan/carrier you need) : activate the Plan card, and you're all set for 1 year service + minutes +3 GB.

But the leftover monthly plan data carries over in the regular data bucket, doesn't it?

Monthly plan data carries over to monthly plan data.

Bucket data carries over to bucket data.

I believe this is how it works. Two separate worlds.

Data left over are supposed to be carried over to the next month, only if you still are on the monthly plan... but you can't expect to get them once you switch to regular tri-buckets...

Anybody want to buy a 3GB monthly card?
Make an offer, I just found out it's pretty much worthless to me.

It's pretty confusing with TF: Their ads say one thing and their Cards say the opposite...

Look at the bottom of each below:

Ad says : RETURNS ACCEPTED............. Card says :CARD IS NON-REFUNDABLE ???

I did a refund on eBay for the SIM auction and got the airtime card and everything worked ok, so they *are* refundable

E-Bays buyer`s guarantee probably makes e-Bay the only place where you can receive a refund on airtime.

I was at my Dillons (Kroger sub-brand) store this morning and they had new Simple Mobile LG Rebel 4 for $19.99. It uses T-mobile. I'm pretty sure it can be re-branded to use with Tracfone, or with a swapped-in TF BYOP GSM SIM.

    Nice find.
That's roughly half the price other merchants are wanting for this nice phone.

I usually try to avert my eyes when I am near the prepaid phones at Kroger.
Temptation is hard to resist sometimes.

I have a few nice new toys that I will be goofing around with for the next few months.

You are right about re-branding Simple Mobile LG Rebel 4. I bought one from Best Buy early this year and had it re-branded to TracFone. TracFone sent me a new SIM to use it with.
