I picked up a couple of free Galaxy Tabs yesterday on this plan. I believe the fine print says the offer expires sometime next month.

Does this plan allow tethering? If not officially, can one get away with it using rooted or jailbroken device?

Here's what I've gleaned from $1500 in iPads, two trips to the Apple store, one to Verizon, one to Sprint, and 90 minutes on the phone with tech and customer support in attempt to outsmart the database restrictions. Technically, the new iPads are capable of working on any network. In practice, Verizon will not activate a Sprint tablet and vice versa. Furthermore, putting an activated sim from a Sprint iPad into a Verizon iPad doesn't work at all. It detects that its in the wrong device. I did not try to put an activated Verizon sim in a Sprint iPad.

There is no reason to buy an AT&T or T-Mobile iPad. Instead, choose either the Sprint or Verizon version, which will work on the selected carrier plus AT&T and T-Mobile, on both the HSPA+ and LTE network.

Anyone have any comments as to whether a Sprint ipad air will work on a Prepaid Verizon tablet plan, including 3G mode? Do I need to set up Verizon SIM in the iPad or do it in a Verizon tablet device and transfer if? Or does it matter?

I am told I have to pay $20 extra to tether, eg this plan is $35 for 2GB if one wants to tether. Have users been sidestepping this successfully with rooted or jailbroken devices and tethering apps?
