Yeah I just saw that and was coming to post.

I am on Petro Canada Mobility so I expect to see the same thing coming....

I use the Talk & Text 100 Monthly plan right now,
$20 for the same talk & text set up.

But $8 for the umb, vs the $15 for 500 mb data.

    The Value tab:

    $20 plan:

100 Anytime Minutes Canada Talk FREE Canada Long Distance
    Unlimited Canada/US text**
    FREE US Text
    FREE voicemail

    ADD DATA
    Add 100MB+ $10
    Add 500MB+ $15
    Add 1GB+ $25

    $25 plan:

200 Anytime Minutes Canada Talk FREE Canada Long Distance
    Unlimited Canada/US text**
    FREE US Text
    FREE voicemail

    ADD DATA
    Add 100MB+ $10
    Add 500MB+ $15
    Add 1GB+ $25

    $30 plan:

300 Anytime Minutes Canada Talk FREE Canada Long Distance
    Unlimited Canada/US text**
    FREE US Text
    FREE voicemail

    ADD DATA
    Add 100MB+ $10
    Add 500MB+ $15
    Add 1GB+ $25

I saw that as well. I assume they were forced by Rogers to get rid of UMB. I'm also curious how long will Petro hold out.

If you want more than 100MB/$10 (i.e. 500MB/$15 or 1GB/$25) you must be on a value plan first, i.e. on PAYG only the 100MB option is available. I agree the overage is crazy expensive, though in fact it's the same $10/100MB (10c/1MB).

They've also eliminated the no-texting talk-only plans. Used to be $30/400min (or $25/300min, $20/200min) but now you can only get $30/300min with UL SMS.

I wish they had TRUE Pay as you Go data. Pay $10 for 100 megs, valid for xx amount of days.

Not this $10 A MONTH for 100 megs, that isn't PAY AS YOU GO, that's a monthly plan!

To be clear, I was talking about PAYG talk, i.e. 25c/min with only $1.25/mo cost (for 911) otherwise.

Have they taken down the indicator of your current plan?

I can see the account balance, but not when the current Value Plan expires, nor its remaining minutes.

    Thanks!

Just talked to customer service. Because I'm on a plan no longer offered ($30/400min), the site doesn't show me the minutes remaining. It _should_ show minutes remaining if you were on a plan that was kept, i.e. one with SMS included.

She said I can get the minutes remaining by doing *777*1# [SEND] on the handset, but there's no way to find remaining minutes from the website. My problem is I don't have the handset in my possession, I lent it to a relative and have been monitoring minutes remaining for them.

If I do get to the Oct 19 renewal date with the plan still active, it will auto-renew on the same $30/400min plan one time (same as the UMB plans). But if I run out of minutes before then, I'll be paying 25c/min until Oct 19. I didn't ask what would happen on Nov 19 since I'm probably going to run out of minutes before Oct 19 and will do what it says in the paragraph below.

If I run out of minutes before Oct 19, I can either pay 25c/min until Oct 19, or I can call them, and have them remove the existing plan. Then I can go on one of the new plans (presumably $30/300min), either through the agent or myself on the website.

Speakout support told me they were going to change the site so discontinued plans will be visible. i.e. if you're on $30/400min or something with UMB you should be able to monitor it. I already cancelled mine because I didn't want it to renew, so I won't be able to see if they do it.

I signed up for the $10 data plan earlier today and tried to set up the new APN using the settings from Speak Out. My phone is an unlocked LG-C555 running Android 2.2.2, kernel version 2.6.32.9. The phone will not save the APN. I have no problem saving the APN settings and using data when I use a Truphone SIM in Canada or elsewhere. Truphone also uses the Rogers network in Canada.

I've spent hours searching the net for a solution without any success.

Can anyone give me some ideas to fix this?

    Thanks in advance.
