Okay. Thanks. Sorry to see BYO go. Another thread at Howard Forums outlives the company. Almost 2 years old.

Here's their corny ad when they first started ... (wonder if this will survive on Youtube).

I got the email from BYO about being a Selectel customer as of 9/1. I checked out the Selectel plans and, while the $75 annual plan would work, the data costs are just too high - 200 mb with a $10 add on. My BYO plan is up on 9/19 so I will port to Tracfone before then.

Anyone know what I will need to port out of Selectel? I now can't access my information on the BYO website but can access it on the Budget Mobile website.

Has anyone being moved to Selectel found out if our current account balances will be transfered? and what plan will they put us on?

I just did a chat with Selectel and the responder said no balances would transfer. We would also need to select a plan. So to stay on the verizon network are red pocket, Selectel, and Page Plus the only choices?

I am being moved to Selectel as well. Their plans don't fit my needs, so I will go with someone else. I think it will be Tracfone. Have any DirecTV customers thought of taking up Sprint on their free wireless for a year offer? I haven't done the math yet.

So if you log in to BYO and click on your account number it takes you to your service info and you can still click top up and top up. BYO shows 16 15 hrs where Budget shows 19 days, which is it?

There is also Total Wireless (TF sub), Envie Mobile (H20 sub), ROK Mobile and the new Smartel. None have the low cost minimal user plans BYO had. I think TF is really the only service left with minimal user options and also roll over.

I still have not received an email from them. I do see the letter when I log into my account, and I see the old rates when I log into Budget. I am going to refill my accounts on Monday and see what happens on Tuesday. I will most likely move my GSM to Tracfone. But I am taking a wait and see approach with my CDMA phone.

I don't understand this Selectel deal? If you have 15 days to go as of the 1st, how are you transitioned to Selectel? Sounds as if those being sent to Selectel are losing anything they have coming and you had better port out now?
Maybe PM prepaid refill and they could hit up Selectel and find out some information regarding this transition, if there is any to be had.

    3G or 4G/LTE?

Since BYO was 3G only, you have more options.

RP, Selectel, Envie (H2O's CDMA option)
TF, NT, ST, Total Wireless, PP, and Puppy Wireless.

You loose RP, Envie, and TW if you want LTE devices.
