Nope. I recently upgraded from that plan to Simple Choice NA to get two features missing from that plan- hotspot and free international data/texting. (Unfortunately this added $25/month to my 5-line family plan! It also cut our data from unlimited to 10GB/line, but with Binge On and Music Freedom, none of us have come close to 10GB yet...)

FWIW, it isn't the MyFaves tripping you up, it's the Pref. Android data add-on that doesn't include tethering. There's an additional hotspot add-on you can add to it, but it's $15/month/line, which helped make the $25 jump to Simple Choice seem more reasonable.

I'm on myfave + btv data and hotspot can work if you're rooted/jailbroken.

A company that does not honor their grandfathered plans can't be trusted.

    Good bye T-mobile

You do realize that no grandfathered plan/feature is guaranteed to stay forever by any company ?? It is only done as a courtesy for legacy customers and there is no obligation on either party, it is only a general tradition.

By that logic, if I had a plan that was $75/month 5 years ago and now the same plan is $55/month I couldn't change my plan with my carrier.
Don't make me turn this car around.....

IF you are are really w. TM, you are free to pay more elsewhere. No contracts for years.
GoogleVoice (domestic call forwarding and cheap intl. calls) Use GV to give us a "home" number in a 2nd location
8 T-Mobile lines - Unlimited talk and text, data. TM One plan. Get $10/mo. rebate on 7 lines for low data use. Net cost about $185-190/mo. We haven't had a landline in more than 17 years.

Please show me where it says grandfathering means forever? Entitled much?

While not legally obligated, T-Mobile made a big fuss a few years ago that they do not change their customers plans (when ATT and Verizon were pushing customers off legacy unlimited plans).

I don't care about the insults but wonder why you gentlemen are defending hypocrisy? Most of my lines are on a grandfathered Boost plan but I had one line on a grandfathered TMO plan.

I remember T-mobile making fun of big V and AT&T for changing customers unlimited plans. T-mobile's ads said something like switch to T-Mobile where unlimited truly means unlimited.

I left T-Mobile after they changed grandfathered plans we had with no notice. I guess I should change my user ID to "ExTMoCustomer".

CEO rolls into good publicity and is a hypocrite, more at 11.

No one is defending anyone here. They're legally not obligated to keep any of your old plans. Scum move? Sure. But by all means they're entitled to changing it as much as you're entitled to picking another carrier that works for you.

What plan did you have and what change did they make?

Grandfathered plans and offers are valid until it either expires or you make a change. Most people make a change.. adding hotspot is a change or adding a line or dropping a line.. even adding international calling/roaming and therefore basically you can now be removed from grandfather plans.. read the fineprint
