Phone for Visually and Hearing Impaired - Gmail Contacts Syncing Important

My wife would like to replace her adequate existing phone with one that allows her to sync her gmail contacts. I'm not sure that Android is required but know that it allows such syncing.

    Her requirements:
    * Large text display - her eyesight is adequate to drive, but she needs large text
    * Large buttons to make number entry easy.
    * Good volume - hearing aid compatible
    * Gmail contacts sync - via USB syncing would be fine.
    * Clamshell form factor desirable, but not firm requirement

Any suggestions or experience would be most welcome.

If I should be posting elsewhere please tell me.

Posting in a carrier forum might help because nobody knows who you use and therefore what's available.

You don't mention smartphone so I will address both.

    1. In a feature phone, clamshells are common, the Convoy on Verizon was large, it had counterparts on AT&T, I don't know about hearing aid, syncing would have to go through backup assistant or bitpim or a smartphone. It would be more convoluted.

    2. In a smartphone, syncing would be a snap, there are large text options, again don't know about hearing aid. Would require a data plan.

I think a Convoy or such would be ideal if you can figure out synching.
