    Cancel the next day?

Is it possible to activate a line with a new activation(with hardware) only to cancel it the next day and keep the hardware?

Yes - although you may be told to "return it to the store" in which case, you could simply port it out to a prepaid or something (Which triggers immediate cancellation under WCOC rules).

What is the benefit of doing this as opposed to just buying the phone outright?

In some cases a phone will be sold at a discount on contract, but they never offer these deals on full price phones.

Exactly. I wanted to buy it outright, but $0 G3 + $150 back in cash(no joke)... my buyout is $520 - I'll still be using it on Rogers, just taking advantage of the discounts.

    Thanks for the tips fellas.

    Who's offering the $150 cashback?

Couldn't you just tell them you've gone over the 30-minute limit?

Yes...or just make 30 minutes in airtime calls and that's that.

For someone who posts like they work for a telco you shouldn't be asking these questions.
