    Dropped call or iPhone issue?

When I lived in San Antonio, the rare dropped call that I might get would always go silent for some seconds before saying "call failed." Now that I moved to Jacksonville, the phone will often just hang up without saying "call failed" or doing anything else.

Am I getting dropped calls, or is there a possible issue with my iPhone 6 Plus?

I have been experiencing dropped calls since I got my 6 plus. Maybe it's a volte issue? I had an iPhone 5 and didn't have those issues on HSPA.

Plus my Iphone 6 plus seems to prefer 4G over LTE whereas my Iphone 5 didnt have those issues

Same here.Tech support says its a known issue and to turn off volte.Says they r working with Apple to rectify the issue.

The thing is that I've had these calls suddenly end on LTE and regular 4G.

I get this sometimes in Houston, its not too common but does happen from time to time. Sometimes it will go out on 4G and other times not end up connecting at all.

Anyway, seems to me to be a VOLTE issue, I still have mine enabled because VOLTE sounds great and the call setup time is much less on VOLTE. I figure its something that will work itself out over time.

iOS 8.1.1 is available for the iPhone 6. It's actually for all iOS 8-comaptible devices.

I was on the phone last night around 2am driving north on I-69, and every few minutes my calls would drop. Once I finally got home I had 5 call failures. But I'm thinking that they were doing normal maintenance and updates.

I'm not in your area but it happens all of the time on my iPhone 6 Plus and it doesn't matter the coverage type - 2G, HSPA, VoLTE.

You can test it by setting up a call to the national observatory clock and just waiting for a drop.

There's some wrong communication somewhere because iOS 8.1.1 is simply available for every device OTA and via iTunes.

My Iphone 6 plus already has 8.1.1. That pic is from my verizon iPhone 5S to show you what the update was for...Iphone 4S and iPad

My point is that 8.1.1 isn't a major update like how 8.0.2 to 8.1 was
