looking for good sub $50 phone

    First post here.

    Gentlemen,
I have been using PP for about 5 years, on the $80 a year plan, mostly txt and talk, with minimal data use.

Current phone is a (don't laugh) Palm Pixi (I knew it, you laughed).
It's getting old in the tooth and sometimes turns off the ringer even when set to on, and occassionally resets itself and dies.

So I'm looking for a new basic phone that works with PP. I have not bought a new phone in about 4 years so I have no clue what is the best bang for the buck.

    Any good deals out there?

    Thanks!

Moto E. $9.99. May show out of stock, but by refreshing occasionally, it sometimes shows in stock, at least for me, at this time.

The ST Moto E works on PP? If so, that's great news. This is a good (cheap) way to get my wife to start using a smart phone.

Edit -- It was in stock for a moment. I put it in my cart and when in the cart it said out of stock.

Won't be able to after January 15th. P+ will only allow Verizon postpaid and P+ devices on their network.

Not sure if that's accurate, but it is a good question. The announcement referred to flashed phones, and these don't fall under that category.

Unless the list used for Page Plus after that date includes only Verizon branded and Page Plus branded phones, rather than Verizon's entire database of allowed phones, after that date I would expect things to be the same as other Verizon MVNOs that can only accept phones that are in Verizon's database of allowed phones, and those MVNOs are able to activate that phone.

Check out the Verizon branded HTC Droid Incredible 2. I use one on Selectel (so I'd bet it works on P+ too). They can be found on eBay for around $50.

Droid Mini is a decent choice. I bought it for 99$ for someone for use in Europe but of course it can also be used on PP.

Little more then 50$ but it's a perfect phone for someone who does not require much and its pretty powerful as well.

I think that's wrong, as things stand now. As far as anybody knows, YES, it will, since it is made specifically for use on the Vzw network.

I liked HTC Droid Incredible 2 for its functionality, but IMHO it's a large and heavy phone uncomfortable to carry in a pocket. As always, YMMV.
