    Question Talk+Text+Data vs. Data only

    Hi all,

I'm headed to Hawaii next week for around 10 days, and debating whether I should get a normal Talk+Text+Data plan, or save a bit by getting a data-only plan and using the VOIP Hangouts Dialer with my Google Voice number to make my calls.

    It breaks down as follows...

    4 GB data

    Data only:
    $14.95 + $7.95 = $22.90
    500 + 300 = 800 MB data

800 MB should be more than I use in 10 days, so I don't see that as a problem, but are there any downsides to not having a plain voice connection? (The only one I can think of is if I'm in an area that had voice coverage but not data - do those still exist?)

One difference is that talk/text/data has unlimited 2G fallback. The 4GB is just the high speed component.

In contrast, when the data only is done its done.
