Always nice to see a new flip phone might have to pick this up and give it a go!

I'm looking pretty hard at downgrading to this. I'm beginning to find smartphones obnoxious, but need to know if it supports group messaging because I need it for work. Does anyone know?

Does it use the SIM card within the US or is it like previous dual mode phones where the SIM is only for international roaming?

    Question Kyocera DuraXV Question....

Just was wondering and curious if anyone has/bought the new Verizon Kyocera DuraXV phone...........and if so, how is the sound quality as well as the call quality? Am interested in what people think of the new phone! Thanks!

I have an employee with a Dura XV...just activated it 2 weeks ago.
He likes it. Very solid device. Sound quality is decent as is the reception. Only complaint so far is the little door over the charging port. I understand why it is there (waterproof, dust proof, etc.), but it's a little annoying.

I just bought one and I think it is kind of heavy. Screen is great though. I haven't used it as phone much but will start using it and report back.

I just used it to make a few calls. It's pretty good. My Moto X has better sound IMO. But I think the Moto X and Droid Turbo are the best phones on Verizon in terms of voice use.

Yes it does, but I have only figured out how to reply to a group message but not yet initiated one. The GUI is not that intuitive for me as I am not used to using feature phones.

I don't think it uses the SIM card b/c it is not a 4G LTE phone and I had to dial *228 to activate it on my line.

It uses a SIM card just for gsm roaming outside of the U.S. For domestic use the SIM card is ignored and it still functions and programs like any other CDMA only phone.

Since it's been a while since this has been discussed, was wondering if anyone has or used a Verizon Kyocera DuraXV phone recently and if so, how has it been? How's the call quality and reception/signal? Just was wanting to get some info because I'm thinking about buying one straight out for my younger brother since he is now off contract with T-mobile and has been wanting to switch since then. Thanks!
