St. Andrews is a municipality with numerous towns. I'm just wondering where the tower is.

I would guess that the existing tower(s) in St. Andrews (Lockport and/ or Breezy Point) will get some sort of LTE upgrade. The shared Rogers tower in Selkirk already has high band (1900 mhz) LTE, with extremely limited range, as is the norm for high band LTE. I hope that I am wrong but I do not see it likely, that few, if any, additional towers, to fill in the numerous voids/ dead zones, are in the plans for the foreseeable future. An under powered, oversold congested HSPA network will likely continue to be the default network for all but a privileged few.

mts has still not announced any plans to upgrade LTE in the 700 or the re-farmed/ experimental 850 mhz band, which is expected to have increased range and penetration from the dismal performance of the current high band LTE.

I am curious! Has anyone experienced 700 mhz LTE with other carriers that are already broadcasting. Has range and penetration improved dramatically?

    Numerous voids/dead zones? Huh?

    Compared to which provider, exactly?

He wants MTS to bankrupt itself providing super highspeed wireless to all rural areas without regard for population density or cost. It's pretty amusing.

between Carberry and Douglas there's LTE, I checked to see what band it's running on - Band 5 (850mhz), so looks like Rogers (and possibly MTS) are starting to re-farm some of the 850mhz to LTE - the speeds weren't any faster than standard 3G , just slightly better constant connectivity:

Apparently Bell/Telus have 700mhz running in Winnipeg. I tested out 700mhz in Montreal on Rogers this morning.. incredibly slow.
Man gets hit by Brick Phone! Ouch!

This is the first I've heard of Rogers' possibly refarmimg CLR and/or PCS into LTE. Can anyone confirm whether these are MTS or Rogers sites?

    What tower would that be?

My cell signal comes from the Teulon HSPA tower.
