did I mention upgrading changing earlier??? hmm musta been lucky.

So now if you go into a store, the price of an upgrade is the INSTANT price +$25

example: before LG L70 is 99.99 then $50 off Instant to 49.99 but buying the handset outright was $99.99+25 because you were an existing customer

now: LG Instant price 49.99 +$25 = $75 for upgrading as existing customer.

No MIR is offered with upgrading at the moment.

Any ideas? Every other carrier has online upgrades.

    Here's my idea: be patient.

The web site changed overnight Saturday night. They are making changes. Their notice says upgrades not currently available, please see a store. They don't say "go away, online upgrades are gone".

It's been a day. Be patient.

Speculation is part of the title to this thread. A reasonable person should be able to separate speculation from facts.

No really close stores to me. I prefer unlocked most of the time but if there was something good and cheap id consider a road trip.

Nobody's impatient, at least I'm not, just curious.

Anyone hear any more rumblings about tethering being officially allowed in the near future? This will open up my choice of phones that will work out of the box instead of limiting to unlocked phones like the Nexus line or having to root and then unlock.

On the other hand, pure Google is the only Android way to go. There's no good reason at all to shackle yourself to a carrier's whims.

My Moto G's & X purchased direct from Motorola fulfill the latter, but they're not quite "pure" Google like Nexus and Play/Dev Edition.

I believe One Plus is the same, to me the key is only buying from a carrier (or carrier-branded on eBay) when it's so cheap I don't mind treating it like a burner.
