Yesterday, both Motorola and Verizon revealed that the long awaited Lollipop system upgrade was to be released for the Droid Turbo.
This afternoon, I went and checked the system update status and was notified that a new system update was available, which included lollipop 5.1. I can't wait to get home so I can download it using my home wifi.
So far, so good for the upgrade. Lollipop kept some things I liked with 4.4.4, such as the direct activation of the camera. It added back some features that I had when I first had my droid Razr HD, which allowed you to go directly to specific functions. Along the bottom of the screen on lollipop, I have direct access icons for the phone, camera and to unlock the phone. I like having them back.
Both the operating system and the apps seem to be running a bit more smoothly, so far. Apps seem to be more responsive and load more quickly.
I'm still learning what Android 5.1 can do but have bumped into no problems yet and see a lot that I like.
