    What's the attraction to U-Verse

I recently stumbled across this from another post: http://www.speedtest.net/awards/us

They're too slow to make the top 5 and you have to drill down to certain states like Wisconsin just to see them. They're no bargain and the speeds don't come close to cable, so what gives? Do they exist only because there's no other choices? Guess I just don't get it.

And this: 'AT&T (NYSE: T) reported losing 22,000 U-verse video customers during the second quarter, a reversal of the 190,000 customer additions the carrier reported during the same quarter a year ago.'

The appeal is if you are a DTV customer like I am and can no longer bundle with fios unless you are a rare customer who lives in an area where you can get fios internet but not TV. Like my parents do actually... I pay separately for fios internet and DTV for TV because it is just much better.

If they roll out u-verse in my area and the speeds are decent enough and the price is markedly better than fios with a DTV/Uverse bundle price then I would switch for sure.
