Otherwise I personally have had fantastic results from ebay, in the last 6 months or so they have really tightened up their buyer protection guarantees, PayPal as well.
Just make sure you know exactly what it is you want to buy and thoroughly read the description and look at the pictures, because the eBay guarantee is based on the seller miss representing, if you buy the wrong thing you may well be out of luck.
But do have a look at the eBay sellers rating and volume, someone with a 99% rating and thousands of sales will probably take it back for a full refund minus shipping for whatever reason above and beyond their official published return policy, because their rating reputation is incredibly precious to their ability to do business on eBay. They don't want to risk you posting a bad review.
