Lots of AT&T permits for Fiber Optics in NYC are due to be finished soon in Rego Park, Elmhurst, Astoria, Willets Point. I didn’t look at all the permits but there was a bunch of work in these areas ongoing by AT&T in Queens.

New airport gates will be ready at La Guardia Airport on June 2nd and it looks like the AT&T fiber permits in the area will be finished by then as well. AT&T does seem to be committed to upgrades as 5G approaches and AT&T has substantial fiber optics assets which are improving.

Not sure when a small cell will be placed behind me on a lamp post or telephone poll but as 5G rolls out further tower density will improve and more small cells will be added. AT&T definitely has the fiber optics assets in the area needed to move the packets around the globe with its superior global backbone capabilities.

Yep, it’s had it awhile but I don’t live there anymore so I never got the chance to test it. Quite speedy... could use more backhaul.

So when upgrade the towers. They supposed to add all frequencies bands to it right ? My area only shows band 4 and 66.
Two great smartphone apps to find cell towers and map actual coverage areas
    1. Cellmapper
    2. OpenSignal
If You're With AT&T Wireless as your Cell Provider, Use the "AT&T Mark The Spot App" to report an issues with your service, like, no connection, slow speeds, no coverage, drop calls...etc

That is incorrect. Bands are added based on current traffic and predicted future traffic. Every site doesn’t have a need for every band.

Oddly this forum site went down during my posts although the posts still went through. Seems strange to be just a coincidence as its happened before. I know AT&T is adding bands and when I replace my device down the road, the new bands will be available. 5G will be a game changer for AT&T as AT&T has an advantage over Verizon I believe. Sprint and Tmobile won’t be able to match the two even post merger if a merger occurs. 5G will mean fast wireless for all for residential as well as mobility. Someone removed the equipment for Spectrum by my place as the box was unlocked and empty. Not sure if it was stolen or sabotaged. I don’t believe equipment was relocated. Our building has a contract for RCN which I don’t use and for me AT&T 5G would be perfect for where I live with a local tower closer to me. The Fiber optics for AT&T is on site already. I have no intention of using Spectrum by me and I doubt they have any customers left where I live. AT&T has a streaming box service in the works in the coming days. AT&T should do a self installed wireless kit for residential 5G which includes the set top box and a receiver to pick up a strong local signal.

Are you sure there's no low band? Unless it's coming from a small cell.

Wow that's great! That's surprising to see AWS as the last CC though. The S10 can actually do a 6 carrier combo with 4 LAA carriers.
