Many bad Bluetooth key fobs. Any good but inexpensive ones?

I've tried a few different bluetooth key fobs. I had bought one that worked fine with the vtag app (Blue Smart, by vtrump.com) until I dropped my keys and it stopped working. I bought a DOZEN of what I thought were replacements but they were lookalikes but the Blue Smart does not detect them. I couldn't find an app in the app store that worked reliably with them; they're gathering dust. There's a SMARTAG app (Released for the first time July 7, 2014), but it won't work at all.

Tried the Reago, and it kinda sorta works. It's way too flaky though - loses connection multiple times an hour.

The 'tile' and 'TrackR' apps have good reviews in the iOS app store, but are way more expensive. The pricing seems out of whack for what's basically a bluetooth chip and a battery. No? (ARE 'tile' and 'TrackR' good? The reviews I've seen haven't been from people who've used them for an extended period of time.)

So, I'm wondering if anyone has found a solid brand of inexpensive Bluetooth key fobs.
