    Gophone Moto E

Are there any restrictions on using the Moto E Gophone on postpaid account right away?

I saw it on sale for 50 bux so i nabbed the last one and tried to Google any restrictions but couldn't find anything. I've been out of the loop.

I believe not, but first thing you should do anyway is request the unlock as a non customer. Should not be necessary for what you want to do, but better to do it new out of the box anyway.

ATT has been very generously unlocking even brand new subsidized devices to non-customers right out of the box. Just a website form, usually takes a day or two apparently

Which postpaid mvno are you considering? I have gophones on prepaid like airvoice. Works out of the box.

I thought with postpaid plans you can get a much better phone for way less than $50. But I've never had postpaid so I might not know what I'm talking about.

You can use it right away. I have bought two gophone over the last two months as a backup and to replace my son's iphone he decided he didn't want anymore. One I switched the sim out and was ready to go in no time. The other I had to get a new sim sure to different sizes. I had no problems with either one.

I just got my daughter the att moto e to replace her moto x. I requested an unlock as an non att customer prior to activating it. After 2 days I got an email telling me they needed extra time to evaluate if it was eligible for unlocking. 2 days later I got the unlock code, unlocked it and put in her post paid att sim and it worked fine. So total unlock time was 4 days.
Never be afraid to try, but always know where your back up is when you screw up!

It doesn't cost anything to be nice and say thank-you.

One of the phones I got was a ZTE Android phone. I insets my at&t postpaid sim and it worked right away. I was able to get unlock code in two days while using the postpaid sim.

Good bang for the buck if it's the 2nd gen. They just pushed an update to 5.1.1 to secure against stagefright plus other minor stability improvements.

Yep it's second gen and pretty flippin' awesome for the money. We've come a long way.

Just bought a Moto G 3rd gen for Christmas too and that is a pretty sweet too.

One odd thing I found though is that I couldn't make any network type selections in the hidden Android menu and its not latching into LTE. It had WCDMA preferred selected and I can't change it.

I bought another E to play with and interestingly I am able to make network selections just fine. I wonder if it is something with her sim card or phone line provisioning.

    It was a SIM/Provisioning issue. Rocking bands 17, 2, 4, and 5 now \o/
