    Hi,

I'm thinking of activating a PayGo plan on a Sprint phone -- do you charge taxes/surcharges or activation fees? Thanks for any information.

Okay ... and no activation ... and roaming included? How come I haven't heard of this before? Sounds perfect for an emergency phone.

This isn't new. Sprint has been allowing non Sprint devices for quite a while.

REAL may have recently added support for non Sprint phones, but Sprint has been adding them for a long time now.

The only carrier that won't activate a compatible phone on their network is Verizon.

I've actually seen Verizon add non VZW phones to their network too! Especially with the new Nexus handsets and the iPhone 6 and later. All that's really needed is just a SIM.

Sprint adds non Sprint phones to their network via the protocol known as DNA. They've done that for a while now!

Verizon won't add compatible phones though. For example, an iPhone 5s is compatible with Verizon's network, but they won't add it. They will add an iPhone 6 or 6s and Nexus 6, but that's about it.
