Since there has been no response so far, I guess it must really be a hard question, which explains the conflicting information I gathered above.
Anyway, if anyone knows for sure, please reply. Thanks!

I've searched and have found conflicting info, so I would like verification of the CURRENT credentials needed to port out of Tracfone.
For a Vzw LG G2 VS980 using Tracfone CDMA, what is the Acct # & PIN to use to port out of Tracfone?
Thanks!

Your Account Number is NOT your Phone Number. It is the MEID or IMEI serial number of the phone (this can be found on the back of the phone itself - under the battery). You can also find it by dialing *#06# and pressing Call.
If your are using a BYOP SIM Card, it will be the last 15 digits of your SIM Card number (ICCID).
Your Passcode can be found on your online Straight Talk or TracFone profile page and is usually the last 4 digits of the phone # or, for BYOP SIMs, the last four digits of the SIM card number (ICCID). If no passcode is listed, pelase set one up before porting.

[08:42 AM] Shelly: Thank you for choosing chat support. My name is Shelly. How can I help you today?
[08:42 AM] Boz: What is my account # & PIN? I need to port my number out of Tracfone.
[08:44 AM] Shelly: Hi Dave. We regret to know that you will be porting out your TracFone number. You can use the serial number of the phone as the account number.
[08:45 AM] Shelly: We do not require a password or a PIN though.
[08:45 AM] Boz: Ok. The full IEMI?
[08:46 AM] Shelly: Yes, please provide the full IMEI or MEID number of the phone.
[08:46 AM] Boz: Ok. And leave the PIN or Passcode field blank on the port form for the new provider?
[08:46 AM] Shelly: Yes, that is correct.
[08:47 AM] Boz: Ok. Thank you.

It has been a long time since I ported out, and I think it has changed in order to prevent fraud. I think it used to be the phone number and then the last four digits of the phone number. Then maybe it was the serial number and the last four digits of the phone number. Maybe now it is the sim number and the last four digits of the phone number.
If you leave out the password, you are going to have trouble. The blank space will cause an error.
I suggest calling Headquarters at 305-715-6500 (ask for tech support) and getting it straight from them.
Use the IMEI and make up a random 4 digit PIN. Tracfone doesn't care about the PIN, but the other end wants one, so both sides are happy if you make one up. May as well make it the last four of your SIM number if you have a SIM.
Are you going to reactivate with a new phone number?
I want to port out to GV myself and want to know if there's anything new to be done to not lose my balance when the number gets ported out.
Thanks for the info. I'm actually getting to the end of my service days, and I will have less than 25 minutes left and just over 100MB left by then, so I don't think I'll reactivate on TF with a new #.
I'm going to port over to the Red Pocket eBay 1 year deal, with 1000/1000/1000 (500@High Speed) per month that I got for $160 (regular $199/year) in November (the Red Pocket year doesn't start until activation). The Red Pocket eBay deal is for use on the Vzw, Sprint, or AT&T network, but I'm going to use it on Vzw.
I was always running out of voice minutes on TF, so I added a 2GB card and tried Hangouts over LTE for the last 4 months, reserving my remaining voice minutes for critical calls, but that hasn't been satisfactory. I don't know if the Hangouts voice quality problem is caused by my LG G2 VS980, my locale, or that the LTE is throttled to ~5Mbps (I use TF CDMA/Vzw), but while I could always hear/understand on my end just fine, I got lots of complaints that I couldn't be heard/understood on the other end. So, after March 7, 2016, I'll be using Red Pocket on the Vzw network for the next year, at $13.33/mo ($160/12), and as long as the Red Pocket service remains reliable, it will be around 11 months until I start thinking again about what cell c=service to use.
I have used GV as my only public # for the last 7 years, and I've loved it, so as long as things stay as good as they've been, I think it's a good move to port your main # to GV. Good luck!
The prepaidnews link says
"Passcode can be found on your online Straight Talk or TracFone profile page and is usually last 4 digits of the phone # or, for BYOP SIMs, the last four digits of the SIM ID. If no passcode is listed, set one up before porting."
I don't find any passcode under my account ....... do any of you see it? Not necessary, but just wondering.
Cheers!![]()

No. That's part of what I meant by conflicting info. I'm going to try what you said and hope for the best. I'll probably try it on 3/5/16.
I usually wouldn't care about the # when switching services since GV is my main #, but set up some automated text services, since I never used any of the included texts I got with my TF minutes and data, so I thought I'd try a port so I wouldn't have to mess with those.
I know it's been 4 years, but did you have any issues? (I hope you still remember)
Has anyone else ported out successfully a BYOP number by using the methods above recently?
I may need to port out a number I have as a BYOP/at&t TF to at&t prepaid. I wonder if such in-network "porting" (at&t to at&t) could run into issues.
I remember no issues porting out of PPC, but I don't remember details. Also, things could have changed since then.
I need to port out a BYOP phone number and want the confirmation that the SIM card # as the account # and the last four digits of the SIM card # as the PIN is still current. Can anyone who has done similar thing recently confirm? Thanks.
Contact customer service via chat or by phone to be certain. What someone did 4 years or 4 months ago may be different today.
Just another day in paradise.....
