Can I Salvage My Partially Broken Moto X Pure?

So, a few minutes ago, I picked up my phone and noticed a crack at the bottom of the screen. This was a bit odd, because it had been just sitting on a table while I was a reading a book on an ereader machine, and it worked when last I touched it, but maybe it cracked a bit earlier in the day and I just didn't notice when I laid it on the table.

In any event, the crack prevents me from using the on screen non-physical buttons for back, home, and the thing that brings up the list of applications that are currently running. Either that, or whatever caused the crack broke those, too.

Having just bought the thing in like October, this is a bit too early in it's lifecycle to replace it.

What are my options? Anyone know how/if this can be repaired?

I bought direct from Motorola (They literally shipped it from China). I assume there is a one year warranty on manufacters defects, but I also assume that screens that crack aren't covered, just based on cell phones in general.

What's the logical next step? Am I hosed?

Motorola can replace it at your expense, of course. You can also do it yourself.

Another option is those shops in mall kiosks that do replacements.

I broke mine. It cost $165 to replace at a screen repair shop.

It's not that hard. I'm not that good with this stuff but even I found it easy. My son dropped his and broke the display, so I gave him mine, which he also dropped couple of months later and broke the display. I picked up two new display assemblies (with the bezel already attached) on eBay for $55 each and replaced both with the help of a YouTube video or two.
