Has anybody had success getting LTE on the GPUNL plan with a ZTE MF970 ROCKET MOBILE HOTSPOT?
I just tried my GPUNL in a friends 6s and LTE works! I had to see it with my own eyes. Now I have to find myself a reasonably priced 6s or VoLTE Android.
I now have an iPhone 6s which I just updated to 10.1.1.
When LTE is switched to OFF, I can enable Hotspot. When LTE is on, Hotspot message comes up saying: To enable Personal Hotspot on this account, contact fido.
Any ideas?
Does everyone have LTE on the GPUNL plan now?
Hi guys,
Not with fido anymore, moved onto telus that offered me unlimited data (no restrictions, eg. LTE all the time) for $65.
I get your guys pain. I had that old 50 plan for years and didn't have an ISP as a result. Unfortunately the restrictions on lte access was the last straw.
Glad to hear people are still clinging onto this awesome plan. The telus offer (not available to public and I don't work for telus) is amazing, have the heiwai router and get real-world of 7-10MB/secs.
Thanks for the update, it means my decision ~4 years ago was the correct one when I sold the unlimited fido plan off.

He said 10MB (MegaBYTES)...so 80Mbps. Not too shabby if that’s a sustained rate.

I wish I had LTE with my unlimited data plan but even being limited to 4G-non LTE (or more accurately 3.5G), the bandwidth that I get is enough to stream Netflix, YouTube, CraveTV, etc. and for me, I am rarely bothered when I need to wait about 5 minutes to get a file instead of 1 minute. I also generally schedule my file downloads in the evening using an internet download manager so when I wake up, I will usually have the files that I wanted.
