Is Cricket Wirless going out of business?

I was at a Metro PCS store and this associate tells me Cricket is gonna be out of business. And AT&T is gonna take over cricket and close it.

All I did read on Cricket Wireless Wikipedia it say CDMA is gonna come to an end in September 2015Name: 1.PNG

Well, half of that happened a while ago....

    Lol

I think Cricket is gonna be just fine. Sounds like the MetroPCS guys were trying to scare you.

AT&T bought out Cricket some time ago. After the takeover, they converted their coverage from CDMA to AT&T's system

    Cricket is growing not dying.

If a salesperson in a cellular store tells you something then it must be true.

Considering the source, I'm surprised you are evening asking the question here. Can it be any more obvious that the MetroPCS sales associate was just trying to make a sale?

Cricket is most certainly NOT going out of business. Like someone said, we are growing.

AT&T bought Cricket's name/branding/dealer network a few years ago so they could offer a cheaper option to compete with TMo/Metro/Sprint/Boost without sacrificing AT&T's "premium" brand

They closed down the old/original Cricket CDMA network -- they've been running on AT&T's GSM network since 2014 and they're not going anywhere anytime soon

Man no time machine here. I remember the very first Cricket coverage map for Central NC. It was all of 2 counties. AT&T has done a great job with Cricket and they are growing.

I'm a bit of a worrywart by nature, especially after loading so many Cricket $25 cards onto my account.
Is there someone here who works for Cricket or who knows someone that does to put this rumor to rest?
I find it hard to believe that a sales rep would just lie like that.

How would a sales rep for another prepaid company even be privy to something like that?

    Nothing to worry about.

    LOL

You can't be serious.. Do you even know how sales works? They lie or are just plain stupid to try and sell whatever is their selling.

Cricket ain't going anywhere..hell AT&T just put out a unlimited data plan for Cricket.
