    Zoomer - BYOD from Rogers - need to be unlocked ?

    If I take my phone to Zoomer, will it need to be unlocked by Rogers first ?
    Or is it okay since it's the same network - is there just settings to change ?
    Looking back its hard to tell why they stood while others fell Blue Rodeo

    I ended up moving back to Fido, with a good deal at Costco - brought my monthly back down to reasonable and got my son a phone.

    A few months ago, I was paying $49.50+tx at Rogers for 1Gb talk/text/data + cdn long distance with BCB discount. But they recently removed $15 loyalty credit and announced plan would go up $5, would have left me paying 67.60+tx

    $40 (500MB data) "plus 15" plan = $55/month
    - should get a further 10% off since it is third line in account = $49.50+tx.

    LG G4 for $20 +tx = 22.60
    - free car charger
    - $175 in costco cash cards
    - $25 credit to be applied to Fido account in 3rd? month

    - Purchased insurance $120+tx b/c phone will be in teen's hand!!!!
    - 50 in costco cash cards towards the insurance
    ========================
    Used cash cards to pay.
    Leaves me with $65 to treat myself (would have been over $150 w/o insurance)

    YMMV on the cash cards - depends on which phone you choose, I believe it to be at least $100. Fido is offering $100 credit on later bill if you get it online, was told by a Fido rep that the G4 is being "clearanced".

    PS: Gotta give a shout out to Michael @Costco Merivale Wireless etc - awesome service

    A late response, but many Rogers-locked Android and Windows phones can be used with Cityfone/Zoomer/etc. iPhones typically can't.
