Cricket has new $50/ 8 GB plan, starting Nov. 4th

Is anybody in the loop on this new plan? Is it gonna be permanent plan replacing the current $50/5GB plan? I just came across this new plan on rumors being tossed around Cricket and Metropcs stores.
Anyone knows this, is it true ? Or just a hoax ?

Maybe it's Crickets answer to Metros 50.00, 8GB per month plan.

If the coverage is the same for someone the Metro plan is still a better deal with free music streaming and tethering.

If you need additional lines it's just 30.00 a month per line for the same plan on Metro.

I know it says limited time, but it makes the $60/10G plan look expensive as well as the $40/2.5 look really skimpy on the data. Wonder if they'll make other changes.

I can't imagine this will be for a limited time only. That's just to get you to switch.

I wonder if you're already on the $50 plan, will you be upgraded automatically?

I think i read somewhere that you can switch, but I don't think it will be automatic.

So it's a limited promo, but if you sign up for this you would be locked in, grandfathered in after the plan disappeared? Better wait till the announcement for sure....this is cheaper than GoPhone 6 GB

Ha! It wasn't long ago that I mused about the $40 plan getting a bit long in the tooth. If the HoFo database weren't so eff'd up I'd try to find it. Don't get me wrong, it's still decent but it's not the 'blow the competition away' plan that it once was during its early inception short of sharing 5 lines with strangers. Other competitors are leveling the playing field and I suspect AT&T thought the latest prepaid net figures could use room for improvement. So much for those who said 'Cricket doesn't need to do anything.'

Obviously Cricket wants people to jump on this, thus the 'limited promo.' No incentive to act quickly if it's permanent, and they know it.

Right... you can even get double the data of what their $40 plan offers on Verizon for $10 more AND get rollover data with a better network and faster speeds, and hotspot is included. Cricket is sort of falling behind on plan updates, IMO.
