    New Cricket "white SIM cards"

Cricket recently updated their legal terms and noticed they included some info on the new white SIM cards and how to identify the new dot symbol on the packaging.

Also, note the October 2017 date.

For those of us who are not too sharp (I mean me), is this a green sim or a white sim? Thank you.

Will green cards be phased out? Other than "management" is there a reason to start using a white sim?

    Here's what the terms say:
    -----------------------------------
When will You Experience Stream More? Cricket will begin activating Stream More for individual customers starting April 2, 2017, and continue doing so during the coming months. If on or after April 2, 2017, you activate service with a white SIM card or see the symbol below on your phone packaging, Stream More will automatically take effect upon activation.

Otherwise, we will send you two text messages about Stream More before we turn it on and a third message on the day we turn it on. We expect to notify you before October 2017.
    -------------------------------
So only affects the 480p streaming option... no big deal at all.

Not sure why they talk about October 2017, when they will be activating stream more after April...

Does this mean the older green SIMs will no longer work?
A lot of us keep a few as backups for when SIMs stop working properly. It would be a waste if they wouldn't work/expire when needed.

Maybe this means the switch to att mobility won't be complete until October?

According the customer service representative I talked to, if your sim card# starts with 8901150327 followed by "7" is new one if its followed by an "8" its an old one. He couldn't tell what the prioritized speed will be nor if switching to the $60 plan would automatically switch on the 22gb prioritizing, but interestingly there might be a period during the switch where the speed might not be capped.

From what I read here this thread. White is automatic & green is manual. All good otherwise.
As a US citizen I have the right to criticize my government. My thanks for this is endless in magnitude.

Fascism is here led by a hypersensitive psychopathic dictator having complete power, obsessively suppressing criticism, regimenting industry & commerce. Emboldening racism & aggressive nationalism.

Just had another MMS outage this evening. Thanks for the heads up about October 2017 ... at least I can explore other options now I know how long the wait to get on the AT&T proxy may be.

    The new white SIM:

Note the only green is in the letter "k", unlike the green bar on previous SIMs.

Does the SIM color matter anymore? (it's Jan 2018 now) I was going to buy a SIM off of eBay, will it make any difference if I get the 'old' green Sim or the new 'white' Sim at this point?

I don't think so - I ported out in November and brought my number back a few weeks ago and had a green SIM lying around, used it, and it's the same experience.
