Just got mine today. Like new condition. The thing has more latency than my nighthawk. I'll run it nonstop for the next few days and see how it goes. The problem with buying this stuff used is sometimes they have been worked hard and when you get them they have reboot issues. I figured at $40 i was worth a shot.

So far so good, seems to be performing better than my Nighthawk but I am in sketchy signal area. Where my Nighthawk is getting 40ish Mbps the USB800 is doing 50ish Mbps. I am having issues with it on Rooter Project (aka Golden Orb) running on a WRT1900acv1. I suspect its drawing more power from the USB than my router can handle. In the past some have claimed about a whimpy wall wart power supply that came with my router. Works fine on my Windows and Ubuntu laptops. Not many features in the web gui, can't select bands. There is an option to enable an AT command port but haven't figured it out yet. Not a lot info out there about this device.

I picked up the USB800 when it first came out. Kept it for four months but replaced it with a Nighthawk M1. I replaced it because the internet would like stop working every 10 minutes or so for a few seconds then go back to working. Sometimes it would go longer but never consistent. It did not loose the connect to the laptop but to the internet. It sounded a lot like a DNS server problem. Alway went to the same DNS server. The Nighthawk has the better antennas. At the same spot on my desk the USB800 would be -100 where the Nighthawk is -95. Speeds were about the same.

I picked up one of the USB800's as well to test with an iPad plan.

Right now I'm using the plan with a micro sim card. I happen to have an 3/1 H20 sim card on hand. Does anyone happen to know if I can swap back and forth between a micro and nano sim card? Say after trying out the usb800 and it isn't that much better, can I put my service back on the micro sim to use in a 815S or M1? Or will I no longer be able to go back to the original micro sim card?

I finally got it the usb800 mickey moused to work with my wrt1900. I cheated, had a GLI AR150 in the drawer, uploaded the latest 3.100 firmware to the GLI and it sees the USB800 as phone tether. I turned off the wifi on the AR150 and just have it plugged into my wrt1900's wan port. Now I can run it 24/7 with my normal traffic and see how it does.

    For anyone curious about this.
Update: I went ahead and attempted sim card swapping. It worked great. I switched to the H20 nano sim, and then back to the AT&T micro sim card with zero issues. I figured I would just go purchase a new sim card if it didn't work. So now I (and anyone reading this) know the answer.

I just received mine and still new. I put the sim in and test drive the USB800. For a small USB modem without any external antenna, I'm getting 36-41 Mbps speed same speed as my IFWA-40 with external wideband antenna. I can say I'm impressed.

How do you change the Sim card yourself? Is there any option on the app or the website?

Yes. I just logged into my account, selected "Edit User & Payment Information", then selected "Update Device Information", then changed my sim card/iccid number. Once to the nano H20 sim number. It worked fine. Then after a little testing of the usb device, I switched back to my AT&T micro sim card. It switched back just fine.

As far as the AT&T USB800 - I took mine in town to do more testing. In town I hit a high speed of 118mbps down!! Out of town where I live I get maybe up to 12mbps down. Whereas the M1 is still 15-35mbpd depending on the time of day.

Can you provide a link to the page you're using? I don't see the Edit User & Payment Information link you're referring to. Thank you.

I don't see it for my Mobley account, either. Such an option does seem to be available for iPad accounts.
