I was using Google Voice to make my second phone look like my ProjectFi phone to callers. I noticed with the latest upgrade, the app no longer works.
Yes this is a PITA, with really no good reason why.
You need to go back to GV 0.4.7.10, which you can get from apkmirror.

The GV app will not let you login in to the google account associated with Project Fi, so you cannot use it at all.
The one thing I want to use it for is so that I can use the native voice on any of my phones and have the caller ID shows my Project Fi number. It is NOT incompatible, the old app works fine!
Google must be getting pushback from T-Mobile (the owner of the Project Fi number) for spoofing the number, or Project Fi will be rolling out something else that would make it incompatible.
I got another app update March 17. Maybe they fixed it?

I think what you want to use rather than the GV app is the "Hangouts Dialer" app, if you're a Project Fi subscriber. GV and Hangouts aren't the same thing anymore, and there is increasing divergence between the two as Google works on their business-oriented Hangouts products. The Hangouts Dialer app will initiate both voice calls and Hangouts/SMS messages if you're on Fi.
I'll try the first of anything, but I won't depend on it.
i know this is kinda of a old thread but u can go uninstall the update...go in the play store and go to that app and itll say uninstall app, after u do this ur app will be like it was before th update...hope this helps
I successfully downloaded an older Google Voice Android version from the apkmirror website.
Can anyone direct me to where I can get an older Google Voice iOS version?
Thanks
