LG G5 - Annoying Alarm Tone (WTH is this???) - Have to turn phone off???

    I've got a G5.

Over the past few months (since getting it), I've had three instances where I randomly (just sitting on the desk) get a deafening tone/beep that I can't turn off. It's not an alarm, it's not a notification that I've set (as far as I can tell), it's certainly not a tone I can select in any of my ringtones/alarm tones.

I have to shut the phone off. Then turn it back on precariously. The first time, the tone started again once it booted up. I had to shut if off again.

    The last time, same thing.

Just now it happened at work. I thought it was some fire alarm test lol. Quickly realized it was my phone, so I shut it off.

Google only gives me one link which points to some NFC being 'on' that causes it? I thought I checked last time and that wasn't the case. I don't use NFC anyway, so wouldn't make sense.

It's a continuous pulsing tone. Probably twice or three times as loud as any other alarm I have tested on the phone. Very intriguing.

I have the same phone, same problem. It started up quite randomly yesterday while charging my phone. :/

For me it's either an Amber alert, severe weather alert or a Presidential alert. The 1st 2 can be disabled.
As a US citizen I have the right to criticize my government. My thanks for this is endless in magnitude.

Fascism is here led by a hypersensitive psychopathic dictator having complete power, obsessively suppressing criticism, regimenting industry & commerce. Emboldening racism & aggressive nationalism.

I would check alerts. They are loud, but not continuous. You can disable all but the Presidential Alert. There has never been a Presidential Alert sent. If there is, we have much bigger problems than our phones making annoying noises.
