Awesome. And it can do all of that even with a Verizon SIM in it? If it can still do VoLTE, I'm loading it.

It does, the service mode shows band 4 and 13. That looks like the unlocked model with the LTE+ icon on the top. It should support every band out there just like the US unlocked model.

Yup. I'm pretty sure it does since the US unlocked supports it.

Not sure if there are any additional steps besides flashing the firmware. I shall not be held liable if anything goes wrong.![]()
I wouldn't dream of trying to...

Yes. That's probably the version Trocks used but he hasn't been back on here for a long time. Active military I'm guessing? The only problem with the Canadian firmware that Trocks mentioned is that *#0011# is the only menu that works. The others don't. You need to dial into the 276633 code to access all those other sub-menus showing CA combos. When I rooted my S7, it was a Verizon S7 rooted and hidden menus enabled and all Hidden Menu codes work fine with no glitches. Andrew110 went from the Unlocked model to VZ firmware which could account for those menu bugs. I remember reading on another HoFo thread where someone had the S8 with Verizon firmware but flashed T-mobile firmware I believe onto it and it worked fine. Just when they plugged it into their PC, it was still being recognized as a Verizon device. So the Unlocked firmware could be the glitch. Not logical but possible. Does the Canadian firmware support B66?
It was a T-Mobile variant as I cannot lock bands on the Verizon variant. It is without a Sim card. I'm now on unlocked firmware (u1), I thought I could lock bands with a Verizon Sim, but I guess just inserting a Verizon Sim disables service mode lol. I have a pixel 2 xl coming that I will root and install Network Signal Guru, so I can lock bands and get more info (4x4, 256, etc).

Yes. Simply inserting the SIM cripples it. If I slap my old deactivated AT&T SIM in my SM-G935U, service mode instantly becomes available.
Too bad swapping SIM cards causes a reboot.

Wonder if there's a way to not have it reboot.

If there is, I can't find it. As soon as you put the SIM in, you get a modal dialog telling you to hit OK and reboot. Takes over the entire system.

Where did you find band 66 in Boise?
Sent from my SM-G950U using HoFo mobile app
Ah ok I thought so. You know you could have put your Verizon SIM in with the T-Mobile firmware and you would have been able to connect to data as long as the device is network unlocked. All's you need is to enter the correct APN in network settings. I have a T-Mo S8 and it works fine with a Verizon SIM including B13. Just 13 won't aggregate with any other band though.
Edit: Great find though! It's the first confirmed sighting of B66 on Verizon afaik.
This was downtown. I can do other places around Boise and I get band 66, but the EARFCN gives me a frequency range within band 4.
