    Don't do it.

    1. Rogers is discontinuing 2G coverage by stealth
    2. You will be very disappointed by data speeds.

Don't know if you're still interested in the freetel musashi. I have been using the phone now for about 2 months. Bought the phone from ebay shipped from japan. I basically took a chance about the support but luckily it paid off. I'm able to get 3g on chatr and 4g on rogers and bell using sim 1 slot. The phone is able to connect to the b1 2100mhz freq for both 3g and 4g, which is mostly on all rogers and bell antennas. You can check on www.ertyu.org to check if the antennas in your area supports that freq. Sim slot 2 is only 2g and therefore connects only to 2g and edge data connection. When eventually turns off their 2g spectrum the freetel musashi will become a single sim phone lol. That being said I really like the phone, definitely not a powerhouse. I use it as a backup phone so can't comment on its full potential. One complaint I have is the battery life. If you use the phone freq you could barely get a day before needing a charge. Hope this helps.

^No Providers in Canada Run 3G AKA HSPA/HSPA+ on 2100Mhz Frequency. 'Period'. If you are getting 3G on this Phone then it's running on Band V 850Mhz & or Band II 1900Mhz.

Phone doesn't have band 4 or 2. MTK engineering mode shows this and still getting 3g & 4g.

Then it must have Band V 850Mhz HSPA/3G.
Like I said no Provider in Canada runs HSPA/3G on 2100Mhz

Nope, I checked with MTK engineering mode under bandmode, which lists

    Gsm Mode
    EGSM900
    DCS1800
    PCS1900
    GSM850

    UTMS Mode
    WCDMA- IMT-2000
    WCDMA-800
    WCDMA-GSM-900

    LTE Mode
    Band 1
    Band 3
    Band 8
    Band 19

So am puzzled as to how 3g/4g is achieved. I have only tested 3g data on chatr and have gotten the max speeds for the network. For rogers prepaid, I have gotten 3g and 4g could test only voice as I don't have data. For bell got both 3g and 4g but mostly 3g, this using knowroaming sim and was able to use data.

There's your answer. HSPA band 6/19 aka "Japan's tiny tiny band 5 band" phones can connect to Rogers' network:
    Code:
    5	824 - 849	869 - 894
    6	830 - 840	875 - 885
    19	830 - 845	875 - 890
Like jatt said, band 4 overlaps band 1, therefore it's impossible for any carrier in Canada to run on 2100MHz.
