    Can't install my own ringtone

Just got the G5s plus. When I go into sounds and ringtones the only ones listed are the ones that came with the phone. There is no option for me to use my own. I downloaded it onto my phone so I know it's there.

I have a Moto E4 and wanted to add a ringtone to it but came across the same problem that you have encountered.
I checked around different websites and found some that suggested downloading Moto File Manager.
I did and was able to add the ringtone that I wanted and it works fine.

I used the Moto File Manager.

This video shows how to do this.

Do the other recent Moto models have the same problem as the Moto G 5th in that they mute the first second or two of a played ringtone?

Yes my Moto E4 does that.
I just figured that it was my phone and was supposed to be like that.
    It is irritating.
