Nobody ever knows, saying "Android" doesn't mean much since it's so fragmented, that's what I hate about Android, there are never any clear answers, never. No consensus, that's why I'm seriously thinking about going back it iOS.

I got the carrier update with the IOS 11.2 update. The update also fixed my random soft restart/respring boot loop problem. Gives me the option to enable wifi calling but gives an error msg. Cant wait for wifi calling to be active. Dead spots allover my condo. ....First post since 2010. Man how tech has changed.. My next phone was going to be the EVO on Sprint back then.

Someone posted this on another forum.

It appears if you bought your iPhone from Cricket, WiFi calling should be available today? Everyone else with an iPhone, next week.

Maybe they're doing some sort of whitelisting on their Wi-Fi calling provisioning servers based on IMEI and are starting with iPhone they're selling and circling back to cover all the existing ones?

Yeah, outside of a carrier update (but let's face it, most people are already getting the option and whatever web stub should allow it), I'm with you that it's BS.
