Unlock sprint iphone 5C

How long do i have to keep service active with sprint before they will unlock it for gsm use overseas ?
I called several reps and they dont seem to have an answer for me

I’ve recently called sprint to unlock my iPhone 4s that I’ve payed for cash when it came out is a a 64gb model I payed like $1000
When it first came out there telling me that this phone can’t be unlocked for domestic use only a iPhone 5s and up if you do get it to work please let me kno

I took the guys advise above and turned sprint svc ON for 2 months and they refused to UNLOCK my 5C.... I hear that Sprint is the hardest company to deal with when unlocking phones... For some reason they only want their phones to work on their network... Even if you are NOT under contract, they give a really hard time to unlock their phones...
So i still have this iPhone 5C that will only work on Sprint...

With iPhone's it's a all or none thing. They're either unlocked for BOTH domestic and global carriers or totally locked.

I have a unlocked Sprint iPhone 5c currently on AT&T and my 6 is also unlocked. The 5c was always unlocked for some reason and my 6 I had to call to get it unlocked after my 2 year contract was up.
