    Group Messaging Limitation

My racquetball group has gone to group messaging to arrange games. About 15 of us. Some on AT&T have complained they're not receiving anything. They're mostly illiterate when it comes to smartphones and 3rd party apps and primarily use whatever the default messaging app is provided .. mostly Android users.

Any solution other than to tell them to use another carrier?

Use group me or some other group messaging app. The user will receive a text notification if they chose not to use the app.

I have a group app with about 60 users.

Thanks, so it's 3rd party apps or find another another carrier. Believe it or not there's a few that don't have wifi either.

We use GroupMe at work. It works best if they download the app, but they will still get the texts if they don't. It will go to their normal text app if they don't have GroupMe.

Sent from my Nexus 5X using HoFo mobile app

    +1 for GroupMe, although ...

My wife has a FitBit and it will only give notifications for calls and for one SMS app (if you have multiple SMS apps you have to pick which one). So she used the GroupMe option to send her an SMS when a GroupMe message came in (she could also reply via SMS, which is nice). But periodically, the SMS messages stopped coming through, and it *felt* like GroupMe was enforcing a limit on the number of SMSes they would send out before cutting you off.

Super frustrating that AT&T has put those limitations on there but we as a family have been using bubble. Also a group chat app
