Wow these are pretty terrible and force autopay and paperless billing.

I'll stick with the 20GB Mobile Share Value ($100) with $15 per line fees. The best 'deal' they had was around March last year when they (for ONE WEEK) gave retentions an extra 5GB on certain retention MSA plans. One day, they'll beat this plan from years ago! Also $20 for hotspots is outrageous on a metered plan IMO.

Out only hope is there are some decent retentions deals (i.e. 15-20GB for $75, 25-30GB for 100) but I doubt it.
    Verizon Wireless: 2001-2004 & 2011-2013
    Cingular/AT&T: 2004-2006 & 2008-2009 & 2013-Present
    Sprint: 2006-2007 & 2009-2011

These plans aren't anything great or revolutionary.

    Verizon's Prices are: 2 GB-$35 4 GB-$50 8 GB-$70
    AT&T's Prices are: 1 GB-$25 5 GB-$50 10 GB-$75 20 GB-$100

I assume line fees are $20 a line.

The prices seem competitive with the only company they try to compete with. T-Mobile doesn't even advertise plans that aren't unlimited.

Does anyone think AT&T will ever roll taxes and fees into their prices like T-Mobile? I think they should. Simplification of billing would great.

New plans still suck compared to MSA Retention plans. Autopay/paperless billing requirement needs to die.

If it is like the discount I'm supposed to get on the unlimited plan, not only is it autopay, which doesn't bother me, but it is debit card/bank account autopay. So no miles or cash back for me that way.

I'm testing an idea I saw referenced someplace. Signed up autopay with debit card, but "prepay" early all but about $5 on a CC. Too early to tell if it works, since I just signed up in late November.
Overly complicated cell phone service. Unlimited with iPhone X. Low cost plan on other national network with iPhone 7+. And a real cheap pay per use plan for "home number" with Moto E4. Combination of best chance for coverage when traveling, and a home replacement number to give out when I don't want to give out my primary cell phone.

That stinks they are doing the same autopay discount that only covers debit or bank account.

I have a checking account that I get a whopping 2%, I think, if I do 12 debit transactions a month. 12 or more, I get a whopping $14 in interest. 11 or less, likely under $1. But a $5 transaction gives the same benefit as a $100 transaction. So there is a benefit to me of having at least a small transaction.

Update: I just received a text today confirming my eligibility for the $5 discount.

The wife and I are currently sharing the 6GB for $60 plan and use between 3.5 and 4.5GB per month so we will switch to the 5GB for $50 plan saving us $10 a month.
This is not Cricket or Tmobile pricing but is better than Verizon and a step in the right direction
For a 2 line family share with Verizon 4GB is $90/mo and 8GB is $110/mo for 2 lines with no autopay discount but employer discounts do apply. If you have 2 lines sharing 5GB on AT&T, it is $90/mo. So yeah, the new AT&T plans are better than Verizon's if you have 2 lines.

As was pointed out earlier, the 5GB single line plan is not a better deal than Verizon. Verizon's is $55/mo for 5GB with the autopay discount. AT&T's is $70/mo for 5GB with the autopay discount.

Verizon also has a single line 5GB plan that is $55/mo after autopay/paperless discount and employer discounts stack with the autopay discount.

I wasn't aware that was still available. I didn't see it on the site. That's a good deal.

The auto debit from a checking account or debit card is them not wanting to pay the merchant services fees for credit cards.

    YES....this.

They seem to be putting all their thoughts and efforts into the Time Warner Merger and holding out for that to be their big savior and money maker. If that goes away, they are screwed. SOOO many have left on the wireless side, and won't be back. They'd have to drop their prices by half to get those loses back.

They hide it pretty well. I used that plan from about February to summer, when my data usage started going up. I went with Prepaid for awhile for cheaper, but I didn't get some bonus data I was supposed to get.

Yes those Verizon plans are horrendous, so naturally att is only competing with their closest competitor. They don’t want these flex plans to be attractive. They want people on unlimited plans with higher prices, especially if they don’t use much data. If you are a single user they want you on prepaid.

Also on that note. I don’t see how their 5 gig plan is really cost effective when it seems like it’s more than Verizon 5 gig plan.

When I had the 5 gig plan from Verizon with my discounts and autopay was 47.26 Total including the taxes so that sounds cheaper to me than the AT&T plan. Altho only thing that stinks is if I went with Verizon their LTE drops in some places and I have to pay upgrade fees which I’m not a big fan of (AT&T I get them waived from my employee ) but oh well
